When traumatic events like conflict or destruction occur in our fields, streets and cities, the memory of them remains long after the visible traces have gone.

Curated in partnership with Amanda Crawley Jackson from the University of Sheffield, Invisible Wounds shows how artists represent the echoes of these devastating acts that continue to haunt the landscapes in which they took place.

These evocative, arresting photographs blur the boundaries between documentary and the work of the imagination to explore how the past lingers in the present.

Invisible Wounds features work by Denis Darzacq, Chloe Dewe Mathews, David Farrell, Roberto Frankenberg, Elisa Larvego, James Morris, Simon Norfolk and Zineb Sedira.
